Serious Study: Immaturity Levels Rising

Discovery News reported  last week that immaturity levels are rising in grown ups, preventing some people from ever reaching mental adulthood.

I'd been noticing that fact while driving in traffic lately - however, just think of the implications this will have on recruiting high-impact talent, to say nothing of the consulting opportunities awaiting authors like Robert Fulghum (All I really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten).

Neither do I

Two young engineers applied for a single position at a computer company. They both had the same qualifications, so to determine which individual to hire, the department manager asked each of the applicants to take a test.

When they were done it appeared that both missed only one of the ten questions.  The manager went to the first applicant and said, ''Thank you for your interest, but we've decided to give the job to the other applicant.''

"And why would you be doing that? We both answered nine questions correctly," said the rejected applicant.

"And exactly how would his incorrect answer be better than the mine?" the rejected applicant inquired.

''Simple,'' said the department manager, "The other applicant answered "I don't know" on question number 5,  You answered, 'Neither do I.'''
